Born on June 6, 1995, in Houston, Texas, Vest played college baseball at Stephen F. Austin State University before being selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 12th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. He developed through the Tigers’ minor league system, showing strong strikeout ability and command, before making his Major League debut in 2021 with the Seattle Mariners after being selected in the Rule 5 Draft.
