ABOUT

Trevor

Trevor Williams is a professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the Texas Rangers. Born on April 25, 1992, in San Diego, California, Williams developed into a reliable right-handed arm through his collegiate career at Arizona State University before being selected in the second round of the 2013 MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins. He made his Major League debut in 2016 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he transitioned into a starting role and enjoyed a breakout 2018 season, posting a 14–10 record and establishing himself as a dependable rotation piece. Over time, Williams built a reputation as a versatile pitcher capable of starting or providing long relief.

After stints with multiple teams, including the New York Mets, Williams signed with the Nationals in 2022 and later re-signed on a multi-year deal to remain in Washington. His tenure with the Nationals has included both strong stretches—such as an impressive 2024 campaign—and challenges, including injuries and inconsistency during the 2025 season.  Known for his durability, pitch mix, and veteran presence, Williams has contributed as both a starter and depth arm while navigating injuries, including elbow surgery that impacted his availability heading into 2026.

Favorite Bible Verse:

John 6 — This chapter is especially meaningful to me. It includes the feeding of the 5,000, the Bread of Life teaching, and ends with Peter saying, “To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” That whole chapter really defines my faith.

Who has been the most influential person in your life?

Right now, my wife and kids. They keep me grounded and are my motivation every day. I’ve experienced my entire baseball career alongside my wife, which is really special. My dad has also had a huge influence on my life.

Who has impacted your spiritual journey the most?

I’ve had several strong mentors.

  • Sean Faulkner — a close friend and one of my early spiritual influences in high school

  • Nathan Gobbles — one of my first spiritual directors and a spiritual father figure in my life

Favorite Food:

It changes a lot—cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pizza… even simple things like sourdough bread with honey or an Ezekiel English muffin. It really depends on the day.

Favorite Music:

I listen to a bit of everything, but I really enjoy hardcore music—loud and fast.

Hobbies:

Being a dad is my main focus right now. I also love reading—especially fantasy and sci-fi—which is something I enjoy doing with my brothers.

Pre-Game Routine:

Nothing too intense or superstitious. I usually keep it simple—just a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. I can get pretty nervous before games, so that’s about all I can eat.
