ABOUT
Kerry
Kerry Carpenter is a professional baseball outfielder for the Detroit Tigers, primarily playing right field and known for his power at the plate. Born on September 2, 1997, in Eustis, Florida, Carpenter played college baseball at Virginia Tech before being selected by the Tigers in the 19th round of the 2019 MLB Draft. Initially an under-the-radar prospect, he made significant strides in the minor leagues, highlighted by a breakout 2022 season where he hit for both power and average, earning a promotion to the major leagues.
Carpenter made his MLB debut in 2022 and quickly established himself as a dangerous left-handed bat in Detroit’s lineup. Known for his ability to drive the ball to all fields and deliver in clutch moments, he has become a key offensive contributor for the Tigers. While continuing to refine his defense in the outfield, Carpenter’s offensive production and consistency have solidified his role as an everyday player and an important piece of Detroit’s lineup moving forward.
