ABOUT
Jonny
Jonny DeLuca is a professional baseball outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays, known for his speed, defensive range, and athleticism in center field. Born on July 12, 1998, in Thousand Oaks, California, DeLuca played college baseball at University of Oregon before being selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 25th round of the 2019 MLB Draft. Despite being a late-round pick, he developed into a strong prospect through consistent performance in the minor leagues, earning his Major League debut with the Dodgers in 2023.
DeLuca was later traded to the Rays, where he has continued to grow into a valuable outfield contributor. Known for his ability to cover ground defensively and create energy on the basepaths, he provides versatility and depth to Tampa Bay’s lineup. As he continues to refine his offensive consistency, DeLuca’s combination of speed, defense, and effort makes him a valuable piece of the Rays’ roster and a player with upside as an everyday center fielder.

Favorite Bible Verse:
Philippians 4:6–7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
A reminder to not be anxious, but to bring everything to God in prayer and experience His peace.
