ABOUT

Davis

Davis Martin is a professional baseball pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, known for his command, competitiveness, and resilience on the mound. Born on January 4, 1997, in Abilene, Texas, Martin played college baseball at Texas Tech University, where he developed into one of the top pitchers in the Big 12. He was selected by the White Sox in the 14th round of the 2018 MLB Draft and steadily climbed through the organization’s minor league system before making his Major League debut in 2022.

After undergoing Tommy John surgery that sidelined him for the 2023 season, Martin worked his way back to the majors through determination and hard work. Known for his ability to locate multiple pitches, induce weak contact, and compete deep into games, he has become a dependable member of Chicago’s pitching staff. His perseverance and steady development have made him an important part of the White Sox’s rotation and a pitcher with the potential to continue growing at the major league level.

Favorite Bible Verse:

Romans 8:18 — “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

This verse became especially meaningful to me in 2018 when I was struggling in baseball. At first, I related it to the game, but over time I've realized it's about so much more than baseball. It's a reminder that life's hardships are temporary compared to the eternal hope we have in Christ.
