ABOUT
Christian
Growing up in South Florida I was obsessed with fishing and baseball, that’s it. The only time I’d attend church would be for my family, as they would give me no choice but to go. However, through my failures I realized how important it was for me to accept Jesus into my life. We can’t do this alone, he is our savior and many miracles have been achieved through belief. I have been blessed in many ways because through challenges I have grown stronger in faith and closer to becoming the person I want to be. I had been told 3 times in my life that I would never play baseball again and now my name is in the baseball hall of fame. I have faced adversity head on because I walk everyday knowing that the battle is already won. When all the odds were against me I still had the belief that I could keep going because Christ gives me strength. Forever thankful for the brothers I have surrounded myself with as we hold each other to the highest standard that the Bible has placed for us. I’m excited for Gods Plan and how he continues to use me to motivate others to chase their dreams and become warriors for Christ!

What number(s) have you worn?
1
When did you first give your life to Christ and what led you to that decision?
When I was 10 years old. The belief that God is real and through Him there’s salvation.
How has your relationship with Jesus changed your life?
Having a relationship with Jesus has changed my life in many ways. Through him I can chase the light in a dark world and feel true peace, love and joy. Everyday I can wake up knowing the battle has already been won.
What challenges has your faith overcome?
Faith helped me overcome a life altering injury where I was told I’d never be able to use my arm again. Also, I was able to mend my broken heart in many ways through learning how much God loves us.
What would you say to someone who’s on the fence about believing in Jesus?
God's grace is greater than your sin!
What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
2 Corinthians 5:7
For we live by faith, not by sight.
It reminds me to trust Gods plan always! When I have felt completely lost and overwhelmed, God has been there for me. The eyes can deceive and only see what they want to see but by walking in faith you can follow a guide on how to live like a great man!
What spiritual discipline (prayer, study, etc.) has helped you most in your walk?
Studying the word and breaking down the text amongst my friends! Weekly check-ins at church and study sessions have boosted my knowledge and understanding more than I could’ve ever done on my own!
What does living out your faith in professional sports look like?
It starts with everyday gratitude to the Lord almighty for giving me a body to be able to play a game this long in my life. On field prayer and praise as well as conversations with others allow me to spread the word organically!
One thing you want to be remembered for:
I want to be remembered for being someone who never gave up even when the odds were completely stacked against him.
Why do you want to be part of Travel Chapel?
The next generation of athletes and young men need more role models that follow Jesus. I want to inspire someone in their time of need, to open up their Bible instead of running to the world. My story is one of faith and perseverance that I’ve always wanted to share and praise God for!
