What number(s) have you worn?

When did you first give your life to Christ and what led you to that decision?
I gave my life to Christ on October 31, 2010. It was the way my family lived the life and impacted the people around them. After searching the "why" behind that I found their love for Christ at the center of it. Their love became mine in turn.
How has your relationship with Jesus changed your life?
My relationship with Christ has impacted every single day of my life. From how I react to adversity, temptation, joy or fear. I truly hope that people see that in every interaction I have with people in my life.
What challenges has your faith overcome?
The major challenge that my faith has overcome is my struggle with failure. I have become a professional at failure and being able to find the joy or meaning in that failure through life.
What would you say to someone who’s on the fence about believing in Jesus?
I would say that if I were to offer you a free million dollars, no taxes, would you take it? The gift that Christ offers is so much more valuable. He loves you to deeply that he would do anything, unto death, to save your life. The historical evidence that he lived and died is insurmountable. All that for you.
What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
It’s a great reminder of the goal that God has for us. We are not meant to live a life of misery, but one that is thankful and joyful for the life and blessings that we have.
Who has impacted your spiritual journey the most, and how?
My father. He has always set the example of a strong masculine Christ like man in my life. I’ll never forget him doing devotionals in the morning at breakfast, or prayer time at night when we were kids.
One thing you want to be remembered for:
“The guy who talks about Jesus all the time”
What advice would you give a younger athlete about faith and sports?
I would encourage them to never sacrifice faith for performance. We are on this earth to glorify Christ and spread the gospel. Simple as that!
How do you stay grounded in your identity as a man of God?
I would say being in community is the way I stay grounded the best in my faith.
So, What is the Gospel?
