Andy
Andy Pettitte is a former Major League Baseball pitcher best known for his long and successful career with the New York Yankees. Born on June 15, 1972, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and raised in Texas, Pettitte was drafted by the Yankees in 1990 and made his MLB debut in 1995. He quickly established himself as a dependable left-handed starter, helping lead the Yankees during their dominant late-1990s run alongside teammates like Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, and Jorge Posada—a group often referred to as the “Core Four.” Known for his signature cut fastball and poise on the mound, Pettitte became one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball.
During his career, Pettitte also spent time with the Houston Astros before returning to the Yankees, finishing with over 250 career wins and five World Series championships. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest postseason pitchers in MLB history, holding the record for most playoff wins. Beyond his accomplishments on the field, Pettitte was respected for his leadership, competitiveness, and steady presence in high-pressure situations, making him a cornerstone of multiple championship teams and a lasting figure in Yankees history.

Favorite Bible Verse:
James 4:6
God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Who has been the most influential person in your life?
My dad has had a huge influence on my life.
Also, Ken Whitten, who became like a second father to me. When I was 18 and signed with the New York Yankees, when in Tampa for spring training I found his church—Idlewild Baptist Church. He’s walked with me through life and had a major spiritual impact on me.
