He played college baseball at the University of Southern California before being drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 1994. Boone spent several seasons in the majors as a third baseman with teams including the Reds, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, and Florida Marlins, earning All-Star honors in 2003. What is your favorite Bible verse?
Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
It's a reminder to stay humble and recognize that everything is by God’s grace.
Who has been the most influential person in your life?
My parents. I’ve been blessed with amazing, God-fearing parents who have both had a profound impact on who I am today.
Who has impacted your spiritual journey the most?
Bob Wade — one of my pastors when we lived in Scottsdale. He played a huge role in helping my faith become more mature and solid. I became a believer at 7 years old after hearing the gospel. While it was real to me then, I went through seasons in high school, college, and my early 20s where I didn’t make the best choices. As I got older, settled into family life, and became consistent in church and Bible study, my faith really deepened—especially under Pastor Bob Wade’s influence.
Favorite Food:
Italian
Hobbies:
Golf and dining. I love getting out on the golf course when I can, and I really enjoy going out to eat—especially spending that time with family, like taking my daughter to dinner.
Favorite Music:
I listen to a little bit of everything—pop, rock, R&B, rap, gospel, and even some country as I’ve gotten older.
Pre-Game Routine:
I like having a routine, but I’m not superstitious about it. The one consistent thing I do is take time to pray by myself before going out, just to center myself and pray over the day.
Nickname:
Arnie, Boone, Boonie
